For the Letfords, creativity is more than a hobby—it’s the heartbeat of their home. Genein Letford —award-winning speaker, best-selling author, and nationally recognized as “America’s Creativity Coach”—has spent her career helping others reignite their imagination and embrace creative thinking. She believes creativity is essential at every stage of life.


That passion flows through her son, Shawn—better known as “That Creative Kid”. At just 7 years old, Shawn has already co-written two books with his mom: My Brain, My Brain, My Beautiful Brain and I Am Creative. Both books blend Shawn’s ideas with Genein’s expertise and dad Shayne’s bold, colorful illustrations—making every page a true family collaboration.

Sharing Stories, Strengthening Community

When neighbors share their talents, it enriches the whole community. That spirit came to life when Alamar welcomed the Letford family to showcase their books at a special resident event—a Dive-In Movie Night at Hay Moon Pool.

Under the summer sky, residents floated in the cool water while Genein and Shawn brought their stories to life in a read-aloud. It was more than a book reading—it was a celebration of imagination and the joy of family creativity.
