Art Around Every Corner at Alamar
At Alamar, art isn’t just something to admire—it’s something you live with, walk past, play beside, and feel inspired by every day. Nestled in the heart of Avondale, this master-planned community is doing something truly special: it's transforming the idea of what a community can be through the power of public art.
From the very beginning, the vision for Alamar was about more than beautiful homes and scenic parks. It was about creating an intentional place where connections thrive between neighbors, families, and the environment itself. And what better way to foster that connection than through art?
A community designed to inspire
The spark for Alamar’s art initiative was lit in 2019, when Brookfield Residential’s Arizona Land Division imagined a community that invites both residents and visitors to experience exceptional, museum-quality art in a residential setting. That idea grew into the WholeARTedly Alamar Public Art Program.
This is more than a collection of sculptures—it’s a living, breathing part of everyday life at Alamar. The custom art installations are intentionally placed where people gather, play, and relax. They live where you live.
By the time Alamar is complete, the program will span more than 1,124 acres, featuring original artwork in over 20 parks. Each piece is one-of-a-kind, created specifically for the space by some of Arizona’s most celebrated artists.
Meet the artists
Walk through Alamar and you’ll discover artworks by John Nelson, Mary Shindell, Melissa Martinez, Fausto Fernandez, Neil Borowicz, and Roy Wasson Valle. Each artist was invited to create something site-specific, meaning their pieces are intentionally designed to fit seamlessly into the landscape, tell a story, and encourage interaction. From colorful animal sculptures to meditative installations, these works are as varied as the people who enjoy them.
Art for everyone
One of the most powerful aspects of the WholeARTedly Alamar initiative is its accessibility. These works of art are not tucked away in galleries or visible only on special tours. They are the backdrop of the community’s daily rhythm—part of a morning walk, a family picnic, or an afternoon at the park.
At Alamar, art is not a destination—it’s part of the journey. These pieces bring beauty, joy, and a sense of curiosity, to everyday life. They spark conversation, connection, and creativity. And perhaps most importantly, they prove that home is where the art is, literally.
This is the first program of this scale, setting a new bar for large-scale residential communities. In most neighborhoods, art is a luxury. At Alamar, it’s a way of life.
A growing collection
With sixteen installations already complete and more on the horizon, the Alamar art scene is just getting started. As the community grows, so too will the creative expression that defines it. Each new piece will continue to celebrate the spirit of Alamar—its sense of openness, inclusivity, and imagination.
So, whether you're a resident, a visitor, or simply someone who appreciates creativity, come experience Alamar—where art isn’t an afterthought. It’s the heart of the community.
