Growing Together: How Alamar Leadership Shapes a Stronger, More Connected Community
At Alamar, community isn’t accidental—it’s something we intentionally nurture every day. With deep agrarian-inspired roots and a focus on authentic connections, Alamar is designed to help neighbors connect and grow together. Alamar Leadership brings this vision to life by empowering residents to learn, lead, and help shape the heart of the community.
It’s a true investment in our residents—helping them discover strengths, build relationships, and become stewards of the values that make Alamar unique. When residents lead, the entire community benefits through deeper connections and a stronger sense of belonging.
What Is Alamar Leadership?
Alamar Leadership is a nine-month program designed to help residents grow personally, connect meaningfully, and make a difference in the community.
Throughout the program, participants:
- Build deeper connections with neighbors
- Explore personal values and leadership strengths
- Identify the roles and responsibilities of community stakeholders
- Understand how Alamar’s vision comes to life
- Learn how individual talents create collective impact
The result is a community where leadership is shared, celebrated, and naturally woven into daily life.
How the Program Works
Each year, a select group of residents—chosen for their passion, commitment, and love for engagement—comes together to form the next leadership class. Cohere, Alamar’s Community Life Team, facilitates the program, leading participants through monthly sessions filled with guided learning, guest speakers, hands-on activities, and collaborative discussions —all rooted in Alamar’s core pillars: agrarian heritage, neighborhood character, living connected, and organic experiences.
Participants also take part in assignments, community events, and team projects that make a real impact, helping ensure these values remain central to Alamar’s growth.
Celebrating the 2025 Graduates
This year, we proudly recognize Ricco Lizarraga, Steffani Meusburger, and Valentina Robles—graduates of Alamar Leadership Class 2. Throughout the year, they've grown, stretched, and stepped into leadership with heart, even leading Alamar’s first-ever Community Clean Up Day. Their teamwork, grit, and love for the community reflect the spirit that makes Alamar special.
Whether they choose to serve within Alamar, partner with the City of Avondale, or make an impact beyond our neighborhood, they carry with them the heart and spirit of this place. We couldn’t be more proud!
